This 1970 take on Austrian author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's Venus in Furs is so visually pleasing.. You could capture almost every shot and make a painting of it. The story holds its plot, for the most part, but swerves a little closer its times (to the 70's). The perverted passions of a beautiful young couple and need for masochism is beautiful and dark in shades of pastels. The film doesn't necessarily come close to the book written 100 years prior to it, but it's quite sensational.. Hope you enjoy.
